2 & 3 Month Favorites

Here are some favorites from February and March.  He of course still loves looking at the fan, lights, and pictures hanging on the wall.  Oh and his daddy and mommy's faces!

Summer Swaddlers: These I used with him when we transitioned him at 6 weeks to his crib, he used this until probably about 9 or 10 weeks before he was breaking out of it.  then we switched to the summer swaddle sleep sack, he still feels snug on top but his legs have room to kick at the bottom.  For a while we were having to swaddle one arm because he would scratch his head like crazy.  Eventually we swaddled no arms.
Medela Pump: This is a great pump for getting the milk out and storing your milk before you have to go back to work and using it for when you are at work.  If you are not going to be going back to work you could probably get a smaller less expensive one if you are using it just for when you will be away from your baby for an appointment or a date night.  However, I have no experience with other pumps and I really do love this one, (as much as you can love a pump haha).
Medela Steam Cleaning bags: This works great to steam clean the pump parts in the microwave about once a week.  They can be used 20 times. It usually takes 2 times/week because all of the parts do not fit in at once.
Avent Bottles 0 month nipples: These are what Oliver drinks the pumped milk in because it comes out very slow and he will not get mad when he is nursing if it is not coming out fast enough.  Still take plenty of breaks when feeding your baby with a bottle to burp them and slow them down.  If you let them they will chug the whole thing down and get a belly ache and want faster flow milk.  He gets mad when Cory or grandma takes the bottle away from him.  Also when introducing the bottle we waited until 6 weeks... I was a little paranoid.  I think 4 weeks or even sooner would have been fine as soon as nursing is established and you and baby are having no problems.  The first 3 times I would go upstairs or take the dog for a walk so Oliver would not smell me or sense me in the room.  It worked perfectly!! I was also a little leery about giving him the bottle so early because of his tongue tie and we were going back and forth about whether we should fix it or not.  So far he is good and we did not fix it because no one said anything to us until he was 3 weeks, but we were not having problems and he was latching fine.  We asked 2 different pediatricians they said it is fine but we could fix if we wanted but it could also make it worse and they have never done it in the office on a 6 week old. So after tons of going back and forth we just didn't do it.
NUK- We tried all kinds at about 6 weeks (same reasoning as bottle above) and this seemed to be his favorite.  He still doesn't use it too often, just when we are trying to get him to sleep but he still will only take it about 50% of the time... I guess this will be easier to break the habit later!
Sassy Links: These were the first things besides the edge of his blanket that he started to grab.  He loves to hold them and put them in his mouth.
Snap and go Stroller and Chicco Car seat: Love the convenience of the stroller for going to the mall and going for walks.  Car seat snaps right in.  However, later in the fall we will invest in a running stroller when he is stronger and the weather is cooler.
Car seat Cover: Keeps the sun out and the GERMS out, this is over him at all times outdoors and in the beginning in stores to make him sleep, Now (he is almost 4 months) I will open it up if he is awake.  The stroller and car seat used to mean automatic sleep, it doesn't mean that anymore.  He sleeps when he is tired.  Also we did not take him in public until he was almost 2 months old.  He only went to the doctor and to my parents.
Bouncer: He sits in this and hangs out on the table while we are eating dinner or if I have to set him down to make myself food or go to the bathroom.  He likes looking at himself in the mirror and looking at the little lamb.
Play Yard: He loves doing back time and tummy time on this and I think he will continue to enjoy it more.
Binky Clips: My mom made these and they are great to keep binky easy to find in swing and car seat.  I don't clip it to his clothes.
Minky Taggy Blanket: My mom also made this.  He loves this in his car seat and swing.  He chews on it and snuggles it.
Cloth Diapers (Mys): My brother and sister called them mys and it kind of stuck LOL.  They used to carry these around like blankies.  We use them to wipe his spit up (on rare occasion that he does this) and his drool, and to wipe his mouth if a wash cloth is not handy to wipe the excess vitamins off that he spits out.  He also likes to hold them and chew on them.
Both my mom and Cory's mom made some burp cloths.
