Finally my baby registry list is here!! This is for the first 6 months, the items that I feel were really useful and helpful. It took me so long to put this together because I wanted to make sure I really loved the product before I put it on here. I would totally buy any of these items for a friend or family member. As always every person and child is different so these may not meet your needs and that is ok!! I left out most soaps, detergents, and things like that because every child and parent has their own preference and skin sensitivities.
Medela Products: For a working mom this is totally the way to go, even if it is just for a short time. I worked 6 weeks and that 6 weeks was LONG lol. My mom also brought Oliver to me to feed him so I did not have to pump, and the pumping sessions and weeks still seemed long.
Wipes: Great for cleaning when at work (if you are not going to work you do not need these.) When I get home I still wash everything with soap and water.
Bags: These are wonderful for storing milk in to freeze or to refrigerate. If you lay them flat they fit easier. ;)
Sanitizing Bags: These are great to sanitize pump parts every once in a while. I would do this once a week when working and only 2-3 times a month when not working. Do not over do this because parts will get messed up.
Pump: This was super user friendly and was easy to learn how to use. I felt that it expressed my milk well. If you are not working and are not planning on bottle feeding at all I would just get a cheaper one or a hand held one.
Babyganics- I just love this brand for cleaner, sunscreen, soap, and everything.
Dapple: We use this for our dish soap to clean toys, bottles, and binkys and absolutely love it!
Cloth Diapers (Mys): These are great to keep near by and handy for little spit ups and for baby to hold on to while they nurse. Luckily Oliver was not a big spitter upper but they were still great.
Boppy: This was great for late night feedings, and any feedings really! Oliver likes doing tummy time with this.
Lanolin: This is wonderful and a life saver especially during first couple weeks of nursing. Your nipples will thank you.
Avent bottles: These seemed to work the best for us. Once again slow flow nipple zero months. I was super nervous about bottle feeding but he transitions pretty well between breast and bottle. We give him about 2-3 bottles of expressed milk a week now that I am not working.
As for us we chose to exclusively breastfeed for 6 months so we did not need a highchair, bibs, or dishes but I am sure you will see that on the 6 months to a year registry haves!
Summer Sleep Pod: This was great for the first couple of months when he was sleeping flat on his bag in his crib. It kept him nice and snug. The first 6 weeks he did not like his arms swaddled so we swaddled him with his arms out in the aden anais blankets in the rock n play. From 2-3 months he had a similar summer sleeper where it wrapped around his chest but his arms were out (sometimes we would swaddle one arm) and its a sack on the bottom.
Aden Anais Sleep Sack: From about 3 until now these are still his favorite to sleep in at night. He also has a cotton one and another aden anais one. He will be needing a bigger size soon!
Aden Anais blankets: Super soft for everyday use, from in the car seat, the stroller, or just hanging out and snuggling.
Sound Maching: He sleeps with the white noise on every night since he was home from the hospital. He listens to ipod that connects to this during nap and/or play time sometimes too.
Levana Baby Monitor Stella Model: We had to get the Stella model since Stella is a guard dog LOL. (not). We love this monitor because we can see what he is doing in the middle of the night. We love watching him while he sleeps and when he babbles and moves around the crib. This is also great because there is no wifi connection like the summer one. This prevents you from seeing another child on the screen. LOL That would be freaky I have heard of this happening before, it even happened to my cousin.
Cotton Onesies: Perfect for everyday wear. I can not stress this enough, however you will probably get plenty so do not register for these. You think you want your child to wear polos (boys) and tutus (girls) but in all honesty they are not comfy in those. Soft cotton onesies are the best! I love short sleeve ones because we live in AZ but footie pjs or long sleeved will do as well!
Changing Pad: Great for changing diapers and clothes especially in middle of night and before bed. It is great to have a central place for routines to take place. We still change him downstairs on the couch changing cover and in the car too! Never on those changing pads in public (at least not with the first kid) HAHA!
Changing Pad Cover: This is super soft and washes easily for when accidents happen.
I did not include furniture but to see the furniture and the rest of the nursery go
here:
Fisher Price Gear-
Rock n Play: We used this next to our bed for the first 6 weeks and then we also used it when we would go to hotels for staycation when he was under 3 months. He also would sleep in this at night if he would not sleep in his crib and it was like 3am I would just bring him in our room. He would nap in the mornings in this as well.
Swing: Loved this! He naps in this all the time.
Bouncer: Great to set him in when I need to go to the bathroom, make food, or have him sit in it on the table while we eat dinner.
Chicco Carseat & Snap n Go: These work great together and it is super easy to use when a the store and out and about. Plus the basket on the bottom is big and its not super bulky like the travel systems.
Lightway Plus: This is nice for walks because the canopies block all of the sun and wind out of his little face.
Pack N Play: This is good for vacations and hotels when they outgrow the rock n play. He sleeps great in this.
Nuk- This was Oliver's preference but when he hit 5 months he refuses to use it.
Blooming Bath- This works well when giving Oliver baths in the sink. I also use it for when I give him a bath in his little tub. I lay him on it when I dry him off.
Taggys: He adores these and they are super cute!
Sophie: Absolutely best toy ever hands down.
Binky Clips: These were great to hook on to the carseat and swing when he used the clips.
Aden Anais Blankets: Super soft and snuggly for every day use. (Carseat, swing, tummy time)
Diaper Bag: Everyone needs one of these to put there things in
Ergo: I have grown to love this more and more. I think its easier once they do not need the infant insert anymore. We use this on hikes and at the airport.
Carseat Cover: Great for keeping those germs and sunlight out.
Cloth Diapers (Mys)- not pictured but can be found on 2 & 3 month favorites. These are wonderful for drool, spit up, and just to snuggle with.
I know I listed some soaps above so here are some more products we love:
Diaper Choice: Pampers. We used huggies, luvs, and pampers the first 5 months because we had gotten all different kinds. In the end we liked pampers best but the first 3 months we did not care, around 3 or 4 months huggies started leaking all the time.
Wipe Choice: Pampers sensitive or Target brand sensitive is what we like best!
Laundry detergent: We use ALL soap and softner but we recently discovered you can by the Kroger brand Dreft at Frys so we use that too now.
Baby Soap & Lotion: As of now we use cetaphil and when he gets out of pool cetaphil eczema. He has sensitive skin like his mom and he has some mild eczema that we try to keep under control. As much as I love the Johnson and Johnson smell the pediatrician said not to use it because it dries there skin out.
We haven't had to use diaper cream yet so cant help you there.
DONT REGISTER FOR CLOTHES, BIBS, SHOES, SOCKS, BLANKETS- YOU WILL GET PLENTY!!
So there you have it! I will make one for 6-12 months and a diaper bag essentials soon!
