5 loves
Cerave & Argon Oil: Supposed to help fade stretch marks... kind of working but that could just be a time factor too. None the less I like the cerave lotion.
Chew Beads: Oliver loves chewing on these while he is teething. I have the gray one so it matched many outfits. I love them they are super cute.
Mason Jars: Use these for everything (organizing, storing food, and drinking out of them.)
Paper Straws: So cute and festive for anytime of the year.
Cetaphil Eczema soap, lotion, and aveeno cortisone cream: All of these items are used for Oliver's eczema. It really has helped it clear up. Its just a matter of staying on top of it.
Hospital Bag Essentials
Oh the hospital bag totally over rated!! Yes you need to get your bag ready around 36 weeks or so but you do not need to pack everything!!! I learned the hard way LOL
Here are the top things that you need (assuming you live in AZ or somewhere not harsh)
Boppy- Great for if you plan to nurse.
Big Black Undies to hide those stains because they will catch what the diaper ice pack, witches haze pads, and ginormous pad don't !
Nursing Bra- This one for JC Pennys is my favorite but it is not the one I brought to the hospital. The first 2 weeks I prob spent 200 dollars on nursing tanks and bras until I found one that I liked
Chapstick and Mints for during labor
Shower items ( I got the beach smelling one to feel like I was in paradise)
Tank- for nursing or to sleep in and hang out in hospital. It was tank and undies that I wore all day everyday LOL if we had visitors I stayed under the covers HAHA
Other Random Things~
hair brush
deodarent
toothbrush/toothpaste
snacks for hubby
cameras and/or phones
outfit for you and baby to go home in
List ready to call pediatrician, OB, insurance, short term disability etc. (this is if you are super organized)
Your pillow
Things I brought that I did not need
PJ Pants
Robe
slippers
mittens for baby
hats for baby
blankets for baby
makeup
excessive amounts of clothes
your own pads- just use the hospital ones you will need them. :)
DONT DO IT YOU DONT NEED IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU DO!!

too true not to post
I came across this during a late night feed during the first month of Oliver's life. It is hilarious and so true. Everyone with a baby tries to tell you what to do, your mom, mother in law, aunts, grandmas, cousins, friends, etc.
Basically you have to do what you have to do and what works for your family. Oliver's schedule has changed probably 20 times since hes been born and it works for us. Sometimes he takes one naps sometimes four. Sometimes he sleeps 9 hours straight and sometimes hes up 1-3 times/night to eat.
As of now we don't sleep train Oliver and we don't plan to at all unless we need to when he's about 18 months or whenever we feel he is ready.
I nurse him to sleep a lot but he still falls asleep on his own too.
He sleeps in his crib now but the first month it was like we will hold you, put you in your swing or rock n play. We were in survival mode... whatever worked and got us some sleep (a 4 hour chunk) we did it.
We do not co sleep, but Oliver will nap in the bed with me sometimes.
We keep the bedroom cold.
We swaddled Oliver with his arms out and then both arms, one arm, no arms.
We always put Oliver to sleep on his back and give him plenty of tummy time during the day.
He didn't ever really like a pacifier that much.
After 3 or 4 weeks old he sleeps when he sleeps. The first month-ish I set the alarm to feed him. We did not let him go longer than 5 hours (we never needed the alarm LOL)
We do a bedtime routine with him and I do a morning routine with him but otherwise he has his own routine. A real routine will come when he's a toddler.
We don't let him CIO it would break my heart and I do not think they are developmentally ready to handle it.
We have not started solids yet.
I sleep and or clean when the baby sleeps.
"You shouldn’t sleep train at all, before a year, before 6 months, or before 4 months, but if you wait too late, your baby will never be able to sleep without you. College-aged children never need to be nursed, rocked, helped to sleep, so don’t worry about any bad habits. Nursing, rocking, singing, swaddling, etc to sleep are all bad habits and should be stopped immediately.
Naps should only be taken in the bed, never in a swing, car seat, stroller, or when worn. Letting them sleep in the car seat or swing will damage their skulls. If your baby has trouble falling asleep in the bed, put them in a swing, car seat, stroller, or wear them. Use the crib only for sleep and keep it free of distractions. If the baby is having trouble adjusting to the crib, have them play in it first. If the baby wakes up at night and wants to play, put fun toys in the crib to distract them.
Put the baby in a nursery, bed in your room, in your bed. Co-sleeping is the best way to get sleep, except that it can kill your baby, so never, ever do it. If your baby doesn't die, you will need to bed-share until college.
Keep the room warm, but not too warm. Swaddle the baby tightly, but not too tightly. Put them on their backs to sleep, but don't let them be on their backs too long or they will be developmentally delayed. Give them a pacifier to reduce SIDS. Be careful about pacifiers because they can cause nursing problems and stop your baby from sleeping soundly. If your baby sleeps too soundly, they’ll die of SIDS.
Don’t let your baby sleep too long, except when they’ve been napping too much, then you should wake them. Never wake a sleeping baby. Any baby problem can be solved by putting them to bed earlier, even if they are waking up too early. If your baby wakes up too early, put them to bed later or cut out a nap. Don’t let them nap after 5 p.m. Sleep begets sleep, so try to get your child to sleep as much as possible. Put the baby to bed awake but drowsy. Don't wake the baby if it fell asleep while nursing.
You should start a routine and keep track of everything. Don’t watch the clock. Put them on a schedule. Scheduling will make your life impossible because they will constantly be thrown off of it and you will become a prisoner in your home.
Using the "Cry It Out" method (CIO) will make them think they’ve been abandoned and will be eaten by a lion shortly. It also causes brain damage. Not getting enough sleep will cause behavior and mental problems, so be sure to put them to sleep by any means necessary, especially CIO, which is the most effective form. CIO is cruel beyond belief and the only thing that truly works because parents are a distraction.
Formula and solid foods will help the baby sleep longer. Solid foods shouldn’t be given at night because they might wake the baby. Don't stop the baby from nursing when asleep. Be wary of night feeds. If you respond too quickly with food or comfort, your baby is manipulating you. Babies can’t manipulate. Babies older than six months can manipulate.
Sleep when the baby sleeps. Clean when the baby cleans. Don’t worry. Stress causes your baby stress and a stressed baby won't sleep."

Summer Style
Here are some current things that I have been in love with (mostly for Oliver, just a few for me). Everything on here we have except the cute plaid shorts with the polo. Hope everyone is enjoying there summer. I just love bright colors, all year around but summer is the perfect time to wear them.

motherhood ramblings
My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is being a mom, and most importantly a stay at home mom, I love it so much. Here are some words that I have found that sum up how I feel about being a mother. This is in no way trying to be rude to moms who have to work, I know that it is very hard on you and that you are still doing your best to be a wonderful mom. I also know that some moms choose to work and that is ok too. I feel that my calling is to stay home and I am truly blessed to stay home.
"I am so glad I am home. I love being here. I don't want it to be anyone else. It is sometimes so challenging, but I wouldn't change my days caring for my children for all the world. It is a blessing, a privilege, a gift."
I always knew I would stay at home with my children. But I also knew that I would have a career. I just knew that I wouldn't do both of those things at the same time. For me, it would have felt like trying to celebrate Easter and Christmas on the same day.
In deed, after my first was born my whole world was turned on its head. Having your first baby (any baby, really, but particularly your first) is like experiencing life with all of your senses in overdrive. You are awash in hormones, love, perplexity, and tears. I couldn't stand to be apart from my baby. It felt unnatural and went against my maternal instincts
My primary goal the first 18 months of baby's life is to allow baby to bond deeply with me, so that I start off a step ahead when the toddler years hit and the important training begins.
Motherhood is a sacred vocation. A blessing. I believe it is the hardest work one can do, but also the most rewarding. The most important. Our modern culture has seen fit to strip it of it's value, but it is a blessing, good and true, to be home.

doctor visits everywhere
Can we just say HOLY COW with the doctor's visits. It is pretty ridiculous, I do not like going to the doctor however since January of 2014 I have been over 20 times (including the hospital stay when Oliver was born). Oliver has also been about 6-7 times.
I am sick and tired of going to the doctor. Seriously... I am. I am not even going to get into the details of everything but it pretty much looks like this:
Me: OB- about 8 times (baby stuff, breast infection and plugged ducts, annual)
Regular Dr- once
Dentist- 1
Skin Dr. -twice
Digestive Dr- twice ( Oh what pregnancy does to you! Totally worth it though)
Lactation Consultants -Twice
Ultrasounds & Blood Work- 3 times
Thyroid Dr- 3 times
And I have another dentist and thyroid apt in August until then Im hoping I do not have to go anymore and I am hoping for no more plugged ducts, mastitis, or any nursing problems for that matter!! The Dr. told me to set my alarm and pump at night so I do not get plugged ducts and then pump during the day (but problem is if I pump and then he is ready to eat like 30 min-one hour later or even 2 hours later~ I am like seriously!!! I should have just not pumped in the first place. For now I am not going to follow through with this but if I start having issues again and I think it is related to time between feedings I will do this.
I have a great supply in the freezer right now anyways~
Oliver- Has went to the Dr. the normal amount of times plus 1 extra in his first week for a weight check, an extra because he has paranoid parents who thought he had diarrhea when he was just fine, an extra for his tongue tie (which we ended up not clipping), and an extra for his eczema! Poor baby, it is clearing up really well though and I am happy for that!!
Random Rant and now its done.

5 Loves
Fresh Flowers are a favorite, however I do tell Cory to stop buying them! I enjoy the flowers in our backyard.

I absolutely love baby ganics. It is safe to use and gets the job done. Currently we have used mutli purpose cleaner, toy cleaner, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. Next up we want to try the diapers!

These are the latest snack that I love to make weekly super yummy!

Cinnamints as I like to call them are amazing! I don't know what I would do without them, I keep them where I do late night feeds and they keep me up while I am feeding the sweet boy!

Who doesn't love this movie? It never gets old and I listen to the songs and watch the movie A LOT!
